About Nicky

I’m a friendly and approachable geek from Cairns, Australia where I own a local web development and internet marketing firm, cityofcairns.com. Our firm has a strong emphasis on creating profitable websites for our client base of small and medium Australian businesses.

I’ve been in the web industry since the internet was commercially available in Australia and have assisted hundreds of businesses profit from their website through ethical marketing practices and well-planned website architecture.

On the side I’m an enthusiastic public speaker and hold semi-regular workshops on a range of internet-related topics aimed at small business owners. I’ve been fortunate enough to hold workshops in Far North Queensland in conjunction with the Queensland State Government, the Cairns Business Women’s Club and Mareeba Chamber of Commerce.

In 2006 we acquired Get Web Services which expanded our services into a range of business-grade hosting options. Additionally we established the first Google AdWords centric business in Tropical Queensland with Precedence Internet Marketing and have made strong progress informing of the tremendous benefits of the PPC advertising model. I even passed the Google AdWords Professional Exam on Queensland Day to become a Qualified Google AdWords Professional.

I am extremely fortunate to have a team of young, dynamic and web-passionate people around me on a day to day basis providing a stream of creativity and inspiration for my work. Here’s the team as at July 07 posing on the Cairns Esplanade.
